This will be a story about native maize, native seeds, traditional knowledge and about how these elements are embedded in intangible ways within indigenous farmers landscape, territory, and lives. It will explore the ways biocultural diversity contributes to food security and to the challenges that farmers face every day, and it will touch upon how researchers and policymakers could support in a more effective way the conservation of indigenous food systems.
